I just got a rabbit, any advice?

So my neighbor gave me a free rabbit. I gave no experience with rabbits any advice. The poor thing was in a cat travel cage & is all dirty. I got him some rabbit food at K-Mart & a water bottle. What kind of cage should I get for him? Should he be kept outside right now in warm weather?
