Error code 0x00030001 error help?

I get this error whenever i try to play a game. When I search ths error, the only things that come up are 2 programs that kindly tell me i have to pay 60 bucks for the fix after half an hour of harvesting my pc info. Can anyone provide a quick free fix to the problem
